John has had extensive experience working as a tradesman and then in sales of industrial equipment in North Queensland and then management of the WA branch. He had other management positions until 2017 when he started his own handyman business. John has widespread networks which have proved an asset in assisting Astley Care to undertake various building and maintenance projects in a cost-effective manner.
With 20 years’ experience on Astley Care’s board, Bill has held positions of Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and Treasurer. He has an engineering background in the Royal Navy as well as holding Diplomas in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management and experience in most facets of management, including industrial relations. Like all our Board Members Bill’s involvement with Astley Care is a direct result of his desire to give something back to the community.
Robyn has 30+ years’ experience in midwifery and nursing and, although retired, is still very active in healthcare. This includes presenting regular induction talks at Nulsen Group Homes, membership of the WA Health Consumer’s Council (Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group) since 2013 and the Consumer Advisory Council since 2015. She has a keen interest in the provision of quality healthcare for the elderly and the ongoing introduction of progressive ideas and methods in service delivery and governance.
Jasmine is a Public Accountant in her own practice situated in Maddington and is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants and National Tax & Accountants Assoc Ltd. She has been in practice for 23 years. Jasmine is a great asset as she can offer her extensive experience and knowledge in the compliance world of the Australian Tax Office to Astley Care and she also has experience working with other community groups.
Janet brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She is a small business owner and along with her husband, has developed a very successful stockfeed business in Gosnells, over 43 years. She has also served on many community boards and committees so is aware of the challenges faced by organisations like ours. In addition, she has developed a wide range of contacts, both with businesses and community groups which have proved invaluable to Astley Care. Jan really enjoys working with a great group of people and seeing the organisation benefit from sensible decision making.
Mark joined Astley Care as CEO in 2020 after eight years’ experience as CEO / Director leading not-for-profit service providers in aged care, community and disability services. Prior to working in the community services sector Mark had many years strategic leadership experience with commercial organisations in the health, research, education and technology sectors. Mark holds a BSc(Hons) from UWA, an MBA from Melbourne University, is a GAICD from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers & Leaders. Mark is an avid choir singer and occasionally needs to be reminded to pipe down in public. Mark is passionate about serving clients through leading community service provider quality, excellence and innovation. He is committed to contributing to a sustainable sector delivering world class aged care services to older Australians.
